Lazaroo – Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Nov 20, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with increasing gratitude:

“Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother.”
(Esther 2:7)

There are any number of reasons why this man might have done such a thing, Jesus.

But You’ve just given me his motivation:

She was an orphan.

So Mordecai stepped in and cared for her like she was his own.

That one piece of information tells me a world about this man!

He was willing to take on the expense of her care.
He was willing to live with the restrictions created by her care.

Why?

Because his heart was moved by her plight.
Because she had nobody else to turn to.
Because he wanted to protect her from harm.
Because he wanted her to have a chance at a good life.

Maybe because he saw in her the potential nobody else saw.

Just like You…

with me.
