“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”
(Ruth 1:16)

Stunning stuff, Jesus.

Naomi’s faith in You was so compelling
that her daughter-in-law was willing to forsake the gods she grew up with

and make Naomi’s God
her God.

Oh LORD!
May that be true of me!

That the people closest to me
will want what I have with You.

It’s one thing for strangers to feel that way.

I look a lot better from a distance
than I look up close.

But for the people I live with and work with to feel that way?

My first thought is that’ll never happen.
I’m too flawed.

Unless it occurs to them that if You’re willing to love somebody like me this much…

they’ve got a great shot with You, too.
