Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God, in Spirit-heightened awareness:

“…make every effort…to add to your faith…brotherly kindness…”
(2 Peter 1:5-7)

This one puzzles me a bit, Jesus.

I thought “brotherly kindness” was more of an entry level virtue –
something even a non-believer could pull off without too much trouble.

But if You’re telling me to “make every effort” to add this to my character…

it must be tougher than I thought.

Maybe I’m confusing being kind…
with merely being polite.

Wow.

When I go to Your Word to discover the answer

I don’t even make it out of the Book of Genesis
before it begins to dawn on me:

brotherly kindness is incredibly vigorous.

It may require me to go far, far, far out of my way

include a major disruption in my own plans
change the course of my whole life

just to help somebody else.

Whew.
Gotcha.

I’m gonna need Your help on this one.
