Lazaroo – Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Jan 04, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Get desperate, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“All her people groan as they search for bread; they barter their treasures for food to keep themselves alive.
(Lamentations 1:11)

Hunger changes everything, doesn’t it, Jesus?

Not the “snack hunger” people in wealthy nations experience
not the “diet hunger” encountered by someone trying to lose weight

but the true hunger experienced daily by millions of people in third world nations

the hunger that signals death is imminent
if they don’t get some food.

In that moment, none of their possessions holds any value.

They know if they die
they’ll leave it all behind anyway.

When You tell me You’ll fill me up if I hunger

for You
for Your Word
for the life only You can give

something tells me You’re not referring to

“snack hunger”
“diet hunger”

but for the deep hunger willing to give it all up
knowing that if I miss You

I’ll die.
