Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Jul 04, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with self-sacrificing determination:

“We are not trying to please men but God…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:4)

It’s one or the other, isn’t it, Jesus?

If it’s my goal to please people
I’ll end up displeasing You.

If my goal is to please You
the day will come when I’ll upset people.

I can’t have it both ways.

But You do want me to try, don’t You? Smile

You want me to bend over backwards to serve others

to see things from their point of view
to inconvenience myself rather than them
to keep the peace by doing it their way.

But all the while, You want me to keep in mind that the peace I have with my family, friends, neighbors and coworkers

is temporary.

There will come a day when You test me
when You ask of me

something everybody else finds detestable.

On that day

I’m determined to pass the test.
