You tell me to respect those in authority, Jesus

and I try.

Sometimes it’s hard, when I know their lives don’t measure up to the offices they hold.

You tell me to obey them anyway.

Well…unless what they tell me to do is contrary to Your Word.

Then – making certain that I understand what You desire
knowing the price I may have to pay –

I will joyfully, wholeheartedly, follow You.
