Thanks for the heads up, Jesus –

for equipping me to handle false rumors
about Your return to earth.

Thank You.

But I have to confess…

my heart breaks over the rebellion going on right now.

It may not be the great rebellion of the lawless one
signaling the Day of the Lord

but it’s devastating, nonetheless.

I’m thinking about people I know who professed their faith in You

who have backslidden
forsaken Your Word
lost their heart for You.

As I watch them throw away their lives, descending ever deeper into a pit of sin, despair and shame

I’m overwhelmed with sadness.

Is there something I can say or do?

If so, please show me!
Give me the courage to act!

But most of all…

keep their spirit of rebellion

far from me.
