Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with holy purpose:

“He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others…”
(Titus 1:9)

I too easily forget, don’t I, Jesus?

When I quote the Bible to other people, it’s not to

hammer them
belittle them
discourage them
cause them to lose hope and give up
make me feel superior to them
control them
force them to behave like everybody else.

You want it to encourage them –

give them hope
make them feel like they can turn things around
free them from bondage
show them the path to dignity
let them see that I, too, fall short
help them discover their unique assignment in You

motivate them to become everything You’ve created them to be!

May I never use your Word as a bludgeon to get my way.

Instead, may I take them to Your Word

to help them discover Your way.
