Lazaroo – Wednesday, November 7, 2012

Nov 07, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with cleansed perspective:

“…in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
(Ephesians 1:20-21)

Oh, Jesus.

How You humbled Yourself when You came to earth!

You exchanged angels and saints
for fools, liars, doubters and thieves

You exchanged invigorating immortality
for blisters, splinters, sleeplessness, pain

You exchanged infinite authority
for jealous leaders, cruel soldiers, corrupt judges.

Never has there been such a plunge from the heights to the depths –

and all for love.

You did it because You love us.

To put it bluntly:

We’re not worth it.

Based on what You got…

You way overpaid.

Maybe I should keep that in mind…

next time I wonder whether I should “lower myself”
to help someone desperately in need.
