Lazaroo – Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Sep 22, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a full-of-love heart:

“I liken you, my darling, to a mare harnessed to one of the chariots of Pharaoh.”
(Song of Songs 1:9)

There are so many phrases I can lift unedited, straight from Scripture, Jesus –

but this isn’t one of them.

If I used this line with someone I love

at best, I might be met with a blank stare
at worst, I might have to duck!

But that’s not what You want me to take away from this passage, is it?

Here is this husband, so head-over-heels in love with his wife, that he’s at a loss for words.

So he tells her she reminds him of a horse.

Somehow, though, she grasps what he’s trying to say and tells him she loves him too.

I know the words I say to You are clumsy.

But please look past them into my heart

and feel my passionate love for You.
