Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in amazed gratitude:

“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins…”

That’s why You came to earth, isn’t it, Jesus?

Yes, You came to show us how to live
to teach us Your Word.

Yes, You came

to heal the sick
raise the dead
cast out demons

defend the poor
encourage the downcast
give hope to the hopeless

stand for what’s right
stand against what’s wrong.

But most of all

You came to die.

We all die

but not like You!

You were the first human being to walk this earth

without sin.

Not just for a day –

though that would have been miracle enough –

but day after day
week after week
month after month
year after year

until the flawed people around You
couldn’t stand it any longer

killed You

making You the only perfect, sinless sacrifice

that paid for every one of my sins

in full.
