Lazaroo – Monday, May 24, 2010

No comments, May 24, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in flabbergasted gratitude:

“To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.”
(Revelation 1:5)

That’s You, Jesus.

You love me.

You proved it by dying on the cross for me –

for me!??!!!

Knowing myself as I do

I wouldn’t die for me.
I flat-out don’t deserve it.

In fact, if the world’s worst sinner died for me

it would be a miscarriage of justice.

But You…dying for me?

Huh-uh.
I go tilt.

You’re holy…I’m not.
You’re perfect…I’m not.
You’re the perfect embodiment of all that is right and good and great and God…

I’m not.

But the thing is, You didn’t just forgive my sins.

You freed me from my sins.

If I choose not to

I don’t have to do them anymore.

Nor am I limited by what my sins did to me.

By Your miracle power

You’ll make up

for everything I lack.
