“In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me.”
(Jonah 2:2)

Are there any sweeter words, Jesus?

“…and he answered me.”

To those not in deepest distress, maybe.
To those whose lives are not on the line, possibly.

But to the person who knows
unless You respond, all is lost –

no.

It doesn’t get any better than that.

You don’t always give me the answer I expected, LORD.
You don’t always respond in the time frame I anticipated.

But to have confirmed once again

that I’m not alone
that You’re always there for me?

Priceless.
