Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in solemn trust:

“All her idols will be broken to pieces; all her temple gifts will be burned with fire; I will destroy all her images.”
(Micah 1:7)

I already know You don’t want me to put anything – or anyone – before You, Jesus.

To do that is to create an idol –

a detestable thing in Your sight.

But this warning from Your prophet Micah helps.

Seeing what You will do

to every idol I worship ahead of You
to every gift belonging to You that I give instead to somebody else
to every image I set in front of my face that mars or blocks my focus on You

reminds me:

I don’t want to go there.

When You tell me I’m to have no other gods before You

You’re not just making a suggestion.

You’re giving me fair warning:

If I don’t do something about it

You will.
