Lazaroo – Thursday, December 10, 2009

No comments, Dec 10, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with extravagant zeal:

“And all the people went up after him, playing flutes and rejoicing greatly, so that the ground shook with the sound.”
(1 Kings 1:40)

That had to be one rowdy group of people, Jesus.

Today’s sound systems have enough wattage to shake the ground.

But these people had no tweeters, woofers or amps.

They had no trap sets, digital keyboards, or synthesizers.

They had no guitars.

They had no electricity.

They were totally acoustic

as unplugged as it gets.

On this particular day, all they had were flutes.

Flutes?!

Oh.

And they had their voices.

But with nothing more than flutes and voices

they rejoiced so greatly over what You had just done
that their celebration shook the ground.

I don’t know that I have that kind of lung power.

But one thing I do know:

You deserve that kind of extravagant worship.
